What your donations can do

Last year, Cancer Research UK spent £416 million pounds on world-class research.

Our charity shops play a large role in raising this money and we always need good quality goods to sell.

A single bag could be worth as much as £30, so every bag you fill will make a valuable contribution.

Here’s how your bags could add up:

1 bag approximately = £30

  • 15 bags could be worth £500 – enough for us to buy around 42,000 glass slides to study samples under the microscope.
  • 30 bags could be worth £1,000 – enough for us to fund one woman's participation in a trial testing whether a drug could help prevent breast cancer in women at high risk of the disease.
  • 100 bags could be worth £3,000 – enough for us to support one of our PhD students for a month as they train to become an independent scientist.
